I Memorized this story. Ben

When you're a kid you can eat amazing amounts of food. All I ate as a kid was candy candy, candy, candy and the only clear thought was to get candy get candy get candy get candy get candy. Family, friends, and school were just obstacles in the way to getting more candy. So when you're a kid your brain can't even process the idea of Halloween. People are giving out candy. Who's giving out candy? Everyone we know is giving out candy. I got to be part of this. take me with you. I'll do anything they want ... I can war that. I'll wear anything I have to wear. I'll do anything I have to do to get the candy from those fools who are so stupid in giving it away. The first couple of years I made my own costumes Ghost hobo the worst. I knew my destiny was to get a real superman Halloween costume from the store. you know the cardboard box the cellophane top mask included Oh baby. remember the rubber band on the back of those masks. that was a quality Item. Thinnest gray rubber in the world. It was good for about ten seconds before it snaps out of that cheap little staple they put in there with. You go to the first house "ding dong" Trick or Snap It broke I can't believe it. Wait up, I've got to fix it. You guys wait up. Kids don't want other kids to wait, they want kids to wait up, because when you're little your whole life is up. You want to grow up. Everything is up. Wait up. Hold up. Shut up. Mom, I'll clean up. Just let me say up. When you're a parent it's just the opposite. Everything is down. Just calm down. Slow down. Sit down. Come down here. Put that down. Keep it down in there. You're grounded. So the day came when I finally convinced my parents to buy me an official superman Halloween store costume. I was physically ready. I was mentally prepared. I absolutely believe that when I put this costume on that I will look exactly like the superman I have come to know on television and in the movies. Unfortunately, these costumes are not exactly super fit. You look more like you're wearing superman's pajamas. It's all loose and flowy. The neckline comes down to your stomach. You got that flimsy little ribbon string in the back holding it all together. Plus my mother makes me where my winter clothes over the costume anyway. I have read every comic book and I do not ever once remember him flying with a coat on. Not like the one I had on. Cheap corduroy, phony fur. So you go out anyway and the mask keeps breaking. the rubber band keeps getting shorter because you need to keep retying it. It's tighter and tighter on your face and now you can't even see. you're trying to breathe through that little hole that gets all sweaty Whoosh Whoosh. The mask keeps slicing into your eyeballs. I can't see, I can't breathe, but let's keep going, we've got to get the candy. About halfway into trick or treating you take the mask off. Oh to heck with it. "ding Dong" Yeah it's me, give me the candy I'm superman, look at the red pant legs. Year after year I never gave up on trick or treating, but I remember those last few Halloweens. I was getting a little old for it. I was kind of going through the motions. "Ding dong". Come on lady let's pick it up in there. Halloween, doorbells, candy, let's go. When they come to the door, they always ask that same stupid question, what are you supposed to be. I'm supposed to be done by now, can you hurry up with the three musketeers, I've got eighteen houses on this block sweetheart. You hit the bag, we hit the road. That's how it works. sometimes people give you that little plastic bags twisted on the top. You know that's going to be some crummy candy. No official Halloween marking on it, I don't think so. Wait a second, what is this, the orange marshmallow shaped like a big peanut. Do me a favor. You keep that one. We've got all the doorstops we need, thank you very much. We're going for named candy this year. At the end of Halloween I was able to fill a punch bowl so full of candy that the top of it would be curved. It was like a planet. And I would consume the entire thing that night. Next morning, I would wake up feeling fantastic, that's when I realized, when you're a kid, you don't need a costume. You are superman.

Pig

Narrator: You know the story of Puss in boots don't you but do you know what happened before that? Have you thought about why puss in boots helped the miller's son? You probably think it is because of the boots don't you. Well actually he was supposed to you see he was found by the Director of a boot camp called Fairy tale camp. Now in this Boot camp there is a whole bunch of training stuff. This Camp had trained the most famous fairy tale animals you know like the twin wolves (otherwise known as the big bad wolf and the wolf of little red riding hood) the three little pigs the three bears and so many more. Enough talk lets get the show started.

Puss: Hello every one I am puss and this is fairy tale boot camp F.T.B.C. for short. I will show you around. This is the lunch room where I have frozen mice and Lettuce and tuna fish sandwich. These are bunks and this is the training area. Oh and there's the director.

Director: hello I'm the director and I train these animals for fairy tales. I put them through different scenarios like what to do if the King shows up and stuff like that I see that Puss has shown you around well have fun.

Narrator: Meanwhile Dog was planning to take his revenge out on Puss because dogs hate cats especially smart cats he had devised a plan to get rid of Puss once and for all but lets let him tell it.

Dog: Bwhahahaha (cough) I will first plant a note saying that he is expelled then I will wait outside of the gate and wait for him to pass then I will catch him and drown him.

Pig: I am Pig Puss's best friend you see I am also Dog's evil henchmen so I tell puss everything that happens but this time I'm not because I don't want to spoil the fun so let's see what happens.

Narrator: The next day Pus found the note and sighed.

Puss: I knew I wasn't working hard enough now I'm expelled. Well I better leave.

Narrator: So Puss packed his stuff up and left.

Dog: Here he comes my plan is actually going to work.

Narrator: Dog had planned everything he even looked at the time schedule for when all the fairytales were going on and chose the perfect time. So when Puss walked by Dog put a bag over Puss's head and carried him to a river and threw him in.

Dog: It finally worked my plan finally worked.

Narrator: Little did Dog Know but the ginger bread man was a little late for his fairy tale so Puss landed on the fox's back and was carried to the other side where he escaped.

Puss: I should have known that dog was behind this well luckily I survived.

Narrator: So puss went walking along the path that lead to the pond where he hoped to find some fish as he was walking he slipped and fell in. At the same time a Miller was walking along and spotted the cat so he saved it and that's how Puss met the Miller so he helped the miller's son he had to first it was the first rule of F.T.B.C. and he owed the miller a favor.

Director: why you little dog your in big trouble for trying to drown Puss.

Dog: Gulp see you later.

Narrator: so dog ran away and eventually ended up to live with Old Mother Hubbard. That's how Pusses story ends but when a story ends a new one begins.

Little John

One day the valiant Robin Hood and his men went hunting. They scampered into the forest as silent as can be. When they didn't have any luck Robin wandered off on his own to see what he could seize. He eventually came to a stream with a bridge. He was walking on it when from out of nowhere a hulky man about 7 feet tall appeared. Neither man would step out of line for the other man.

After a long wait of silence Robin shouted over the stream "Let's settle this. Whoever knocks the other person in the river shall be the champion!"

The stranger replied, "Let's see how weak you are." They went at each other with giant sticks and they battled till the stranger knocked Robin into the river. Robin waded out of the stream and blew his horn 3 times and a band of 50 massive men appeared.

Robin announced," This man knocked me into the river." The band of men attacked the stranger. The stranger was ready to battle all of them when Robin stopped them and asked "Will you join me and my band of men."
The stranger replied saying, "I don't think I have a choice" and chuckled. When the stranger pledged that he would join everyone yelled with glee. When Robin asked the stranger his name, the stranger answered, "John Little, but you can call me Little John."

Knight for Dinner

by Benjamin Neville

There once was a knight who was walking one day. When suddenly it started to rain because the clouds got to heavy with water so it fell to the earth. He didn't want his suit of armor to get wet so he found a cave and ran inside. Unfortunately there was a ferocious dragon inside because he had an arrow in his left wing. The dragon quickly crawled over and blocked the huge entrance to the cave which he did so the knight couldn't get out. When suddenly the knight happened to glance at the arrow in his wing so he helped the dragon by pulling the arrow out because he was a nice knight. Then the dragon let him go free.

The knight then left to the castle. When he got there the king arrested him and put him in the dungeon because the advisor (who hated the knight) lied to the king that the knight was plotting to kill him with a dagger in his heart while he was sleeping which made the king so mad that he arrested the knight. Now this knight was put in the darkest dungeon the jailers could find. He was tortured and given lots of delicious foods that made him fat.

The knight was chained to a rock outside of a dragons cave. The good thing was that he was chained to a rock outside of a dragons cave that contained the dragon which he had helped which made the dragon break the bonds that was holding him and take him to a faraway place because he was so kind. He was taken to live with the fairies which made him truly realize that kindness really does help.

The End

The Wall

It was a night like any other at the orphanage in England. Hunter called to Mrs. Tarn "Tell me the story of how I came here" he said.

"Well, 12 years ago" she said "it was a night like never before. It had rained for several days, but that night the rain stopped and the full moon shone through the clouds like a beacon of light. I was sitting there reading my book and Mr. Tarn reading his newspaper when we heard a knock at the door. I walked over and opened the door to find a baby lying there with bright blue eyes and coal black hair."

    "That was me," he said.

"Yes that was you. You were wrapped in a blanket that was covered with dragons and giants and witches and a gleaming castle. However what astonished me most was that a beam of moonlight was focused on you" she said

"Don't forget the note" he said

" Ah yes there was a note it was on the blanket I read his name is Hunter" she said

"Thank you Mrs. Tarn for the story good night" he said clutching his blanket closer to him

"Good night my child." she replied.

The next morning Hunter got up and asked if he could go out and play.

"Sure as long as you stay away from the wall." Mrs. Tarn called.

Hunter knew why he couldn't go near the wall. Mr. and Mrs. Tarn had had a child. His names was Robert. He climbed the wall almost every day. One day he slipped and fell onto the other side. Mr. and Mrs. Tarn looked everywhere, but there child was never seen again. So they started an orphanage hoping that their son would return. Hunter went off to play kickball with the other boys. When Hunters' turn to kick came he kicked it over the wall.

"I'll get it" he said and started climbing up the wall before the other boys could stop him.

He was up and over the wall in a flash and instead of a street or a park there was a forest. He walked into the forest somehow unafraid. When he walked for about 10 minutes he heard somebody yelling to find a troll or something. He hid in a cave peeking out to see what was happening.

"Hup two three four Hup two three four" Hunter heard "We better find that troll or else Aharoni will destroy us"

Hunter spied a group of skeletons with shields and swords. Hunter turned around to see where he was. He saw and old man and a young boy about 18 years old.

"Welcome my prince" said the man.

"How do you know it's the prince" the boy remarked

"I know because I am a wizard" the man replied

"Would you join us for dinner" The man said turning back to Hunter.

Suddenly out of nowhere a chair swept him up to a table filled with just about any food you can imagine.

"Oh don't be shy boy eat" the man said.

He and the boy were sitting in chairs just like his. Hunter started eating, tasting the most delicious food he had ever had.

"Now boy what is your name" the man asked.

"HHhunter" Hunter gasped, startled the wizard had asked for his name.

"Well Hunter, you are a prince and you are destined to rule this land someday." The wizard said with a far off look in his eyes "Well enough with this dilly dally my name is Arko and this here boy" He said raising his eyebrow at the boy "Is Robert Tarn"

"Are you the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tarn." Hunter asked.

"Yes I am" Robert said "It was a day like any other. I climbed onto the wall, my favorite place, where I would never fall from. Except a bully lived close and he climbed onto the wall and pushed me off. He looked for me, but I don't think he could see me because he was calling my name."

"I tried to climb back up it seemed the wall wouldn't let me. Then the wizard came along picked me up and I became an apprentice to him. What did my mom and dad do?" he asked Hunter

"Well they started an Orphanage hoping you might come home. They even named it after you." Hunter replied. Robert and Hunter turned to see the wizard crying into a tissue.

"Sorry I just can get a (sniff) little emotional. I made my finger go in a circle while secretly pointing at Arko. Robert laughed and asked the wizard "Well are we going to give it to him or not"

"Oh right come this way Hunter I am going to show you something that you will say it's cold I think"

It's actually cool Hunter thought but decided that he didn't care. Hunter followed the wizard into a tiny room in the center was a sword standing on its hilt.

"Well what are you waiting for we don't have all day" the wizard said "just grab it".

Hunter reached down for the hilt when the sword flipped around Hunter stood up and grabbed the hilt. A scabbard appeared on his left side and he put the sword into it. "Now boy sit down and I'll tell you what happened. Your parents crossed over to earth to keep you in a safe place till you were old enough to be able to at least defend yourself. Alas when they returned they were captured by Aharoni and put in a jail cell. He wanted to rule the Earth but he couldn't cross over. Only you and your parents have the power to cross over. Except sometimes a person from earth comes over the wall and gets trapped on this side. Like with Robert here. Though it also happens the opposite way. That's how bigfoot got on your earth, but he is very cunning and rarely get's seen."

"Now that Aharoni has your parents he can cross over but his magic doesn't work on earth so he wants to bring his army. Without three people with the power to cross over he can only bring 1 or 2 skeletons from his army. That's why he is looking for you." He finished.

Hunter pulled out the sword feeling it's sharp edge testing its weight. He found out that it had a sharp edge and was light weight. On the front and back there was an inscription. Even though it was written in a weird language, Hunter was able to read. I am the mighty Excalibur, I have been used to fight some foes and kill evil right on sight. For whoever holds me blessed or cursed he shall win the battle. Though he shall be burdened with this sword till a Descendant of King Arthur comes and takes it or if he dies. Hmm sounds subtle Hunter thought.

"Well here are your provisions now off you go" the Arko said

¨Can I go with him? Robert asked

¨Sure why not you can protect him¨ the Arko said He handed Robert a sack of provisions

If you need anything call me he said¨¨ He handed Hunter and Robert a cell phone just press the green button if you need me bye¨ he said as he pushed us out the door.

¨Well we better get going¨ Hunter said so they started off. They walked for what seemed like hours till they came to a clearing. Hunter pulled out a tent from his backpack it was so big that he knew it didn't fit in his backpack. He came to the conclusion that the backpack could hold anything and everything you wanted yet it would still be small and light. I think I'm starting to like Arko Hunter thought. It turned out that the tent was very big and could hold 5 people. When they woke up they heard someone crying. They took the tent down and put it away they followed the sound to see a dragon among some crumbled rocks. Hunter and Robert looked at each other. The dragon looked up. "Who's there" the dragon said "Oh it's just some puny humans. I have lost my home and family to Aharoni so go ahead and kill me"

"We don't want to hurt you" Hunter said looking at the huge 30 foot long red dragon.

"But we are going after Aharoni are selves maybe you would like to help us" Robert said

"I'm not dumb but I could use some help getting my parents back." The Dragon said "If you can provide food and shelter and help me get my parents back I'll be glad to help. My name is Herman." Hunter looked in his back pack to find food galore and a dragon sized tent.

"Sure" Hunter said thanking Arko in his mind.

"You guys can ride on my back if you have something to hold onto" Robert looked in his back pack to find a dragon sized saddle for 2. They put it on Herman finding out it was actually really comfterble with its own built in 3D wide screen T.V. Arko Rocks Hunter and Robert thought leaning back to watch a movie.

Descendants of old

It was a dark night,

a cool breeze flowing

The king was tired,

his face taunt with dread

Those who knew him,

prayed with their hearts

Those who didn't

prayed for him in church

With his queen gone,

an army wiped out

A smile on his enemy's face

a sneer on his treacherous friend

"Where will I go?" He asked

Before crossing the bridge

"Far away from here."

The enemy replied for all he cared

"What of my people?"

The ghost of his words echoed

down the trail as he went

"You have no power to help."

The traitor sounded out

"They are not your concern."

Haunted the king on his way

The tears falling from his eyes

Not once did he look back

No weakness did he show

Only a promise did he leave

Even as his tracks, were covered in snow

"I will save the people of my land,"

The king called out

As the burden of a fallen kingdom,

came down upon him

He braced his shoulders

Against wind and snow

Long did he walk

Across lands that were once his

Now only held sorrow

Under his heavy gaze

The land called for people gone

It cried for people gone

It cried cold tears for their king lost

Even the dead had something to say

For the ghosts could be heard

For those who said naught a word

If you listened you could hear

The howling and wailing of the dead

Waiting year after year

For their king to appear

Looking for hope in days ahead

21 years are come and gone

now a stranger comes

Uninterested before the enemy sits up,

wanting to be entertained

The traitor sat silent, unsure

Wary and untrusting being a liar that he was

Yet the stranger did nothing

The enemy, disappointed, turned away

But then the traitor saw a glow, a light!

Something unfamiliar coming into his sight

The stranger had pulled out a shimmering sword

In the enemy's own Great Hall

"You must be mad," The enemy chuckled

Sending his soldiers forward

The soldiers went down one by one

Their breath taken, their lives done

With surprise the enemy stood

A strange feeling came then

One of terror and fright

The enemy saw that he feared this man

"What do you want?" the enemy wanted to know

The enemy stood alone, the traitor gone

Then the stranger spoke

And the words shook the enemy to the bone

"You took this land by force

the people you enslaved.

My father offered peace,

yet you threw it away.

You wanted a war,

one that you could win.

You tricked my father,

with a traitor who was his friend."

"Now I cry vengeance,

I cry to fill my father's place.

Hi promise will not be forsaken.

Yet I give you the right to choose

Leave this land never to return,

and I will let you leave alive.

Otherwise fight this very hour with me,

and let God decide who will die."

The enemy's felt on fire!

Heat was his friend as he reached

for the sword that made men's blood run cold

He cried out in anger,

for He was the conqueror, not the conquered!

That was the mistake he made

Instead of walking away

He lashed out , first to draw blood that day

The stranger ignored his wound

and with a battle cry of his own

He came forward with a crash

Sword against sword, blades of steel

They kept on, neither yielding

fighting on with zeal

Then a fatal blow was struck

A warrior went down

Gasping for breath he fell

The sword dropped from his hand

"Get it over with," the enemy cried!

"I will not finish an unarmed man."

Was the only reply for the condemned

the enemy lay in his blood

and knew that he was done

the stranger looked on

Once more the enemy struggled and tried

Then very slowly he nodded and died

The stranger leaned down and closed the eyes

Saying a blessing for those who had died

Quickly the stranger stood

and through a door he fled

He hurried along

Not a sound did he make

Then a dagger slipped under

into the strangers back

He fell gasping, turning.

The traitor looked on

A smile crossing his face

"A shame" was all he said.

The traitor's sneer was filled with contempt

The stranger closed his eyes and said nothing

A noise made the traitor turn

Someone he couldn't see

The shadows of night

enveloped all three.

The one that was bleeding

The one that was sneering

and the one with sword in hand

A silent shadow born of this land

The traitor made no sound

As his silent body hit the ground

killed instantly, and inadequate death

To feel no pain, when he had hurt so many

The shadow not caring, fell to the floor

Beside the stranger dying beside the door

No hope filled either one

Only dread and sorrow resided in them

Then the door opened

The shadow caught her breath

A man stepped out

And all there were blessed

The man and the shadow looked

Eyes met peoples' destiny divined

love was there between two intertwined

Breaths caught, they stared into loves design

Then reality came as always it must

The stranger lay at deaths door

"If you can help, you must."

Cried the shadow

The man looked down at the stranger

hurrying to his side

The man pulled a vial from his pocket

And poured the liquid down the strangers throat

The stranger swallowed, then coughed

The shadow cried out again, this time with joy!

Stranger and shadow embraced,

love was evident between the two

the man turned to go, a sad look in his eye

The shadow moved into his path

As the stranger stood with new breath

Life and hope renewed in both

The shadow spoke what both would say

"Thank you for my brother's life."

The shadow moved closer

The man surprised turned to meet her

The stranger left, laughter on his lips

The man's heart was captured

both man and shadow embraced

A kiss expressed all that was needed

Now the stranger was rightly named

He was crowned and made a king

His father's lands he'd won

his people rejoiced, every single one

the enemy was vanquished

The traitor dead

A wedding was planned

New life was born

Now if you look upon the wall

hung up in that Great hall

You can see a sword hung there

Giving light to all who seek

You can also see shadows escape

as they move silent as their mother before

While others healed,

like their father before.
